Scope and Contents
A large collection of many types of personal papers of the late Carroll Stuhlmueller, C.P. The boxes include considerable work completed by Fr. Carroll on the psalms, including his book Psalms and Canticles, preparation of the Liturgical Psalter (INCLUDING CONFIDENTIAL MATERIAL FROM THE BISHOP IN CHARGE ON TRANSLATION GUIDELINES), and work for ICEL. There are files containing information about and teaching materials for trips to Egypt, Greece, Turkey and in particular Israel. Of interest is a handwritten diary of one of his early trips to the Holy Land. There are copies of plans for and manuscripts for lectures and retreats given by Fr. Carroll. Correspondence and preparation for his contributions for the Collegeville Dictionary of Biblical Theologies and the Jerome Biblical Commentary are in these files. Materials connected to CTU include class materials, official notices received, world missions information, formation of the Biblical spirituality program, Stauros materials, materials on the 20th anniversary of CTU, work with M.A. students, the Hyde Park Cluster, and BLL departmental materials. The manuscript of the Barnabas Ahem Festscrift is contained in .one file. In addition, there are CONFIDENTIAL materials concerning recruitment of faculty and evaluation of current faculty. There are numerous articles and book reviews written by Fr. Carroll. His university and graduate school transcripts and other personal materials such as photos and biographies are in these files. Finally, there are materials on the death of Fr. Carroll, including tributes, homilies and correspondence to and from CTU are in the final box of this collection.
