Biographical Note

Irene Murphy was vice-president and editor for Benziger Publications. Benziger was the publisher of the religious texts by Sr. Michael Shaunessey, Gerard Weber, and James Killgallon. She is recognized as one of the most significant educators of religious textbooks in the United States. She has been a consultant to dioceses in every U.S. state except Alaska and Hawaii.
